Welcome to Gaming Aging
Gaming Aging explores longevity interventions from the end user perspective.
Five regions in the world - so called Blue Zones - enjoy longer than average human lifespan. Can the rest of us craft our own personal Blue Zone based on geroscience?
The geroscience hypothesis is that certain biological processes influence the rate at which humans develop age-associated diseases, become frail, and eventually die. Developing ways to intervene in these processes, to slow deleterious aging or even reverse symptoms of aging, is the goal of translational geroscience research.
Join me to explore how geroscience findings translate to the world at large, to dissect geroscience-relevant publications, and to explore the tech and data ecosystem for monitoring individual biological health with consumer-grade products.
A great place to start is an overview of the landscape for delivering longevity at scale.

Hi! I’m Monica Spisar
At the University of Oxford from early 2019 to mid 2021, I worked with leading scientists to develop a translational geroscience portfolio. My engineering background inspired me to explore whether, how, and when longevity interventions could be accessible at scale - so that anyone could effectively game aging.
Previously, I conducted academic and industrial research on new technologies for medical applications, both diagnostic and therapeutic. I earned a doctoral degree in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Michigan, and a BSc in Physics from the University of Toronto.
On Twitter, I’m @msyvr. You can also find me at my personal website.
Subscriptions
Paid subscribers enable the following exclusive resources, launching late 2021:
A subscriber-only catalogue with analyses of bleeding edge geroscience studies and pre-commercial wearables research.
A database of curated resources to help understand capabilities and limitations of longevity interventions and to guide horizon scanning. This database will be continuously updated.
Insight into expert perspectives.
Thanks so much for joining me on this journey.
